PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project aims to strengthen territorial management and governance in the Bi-national Mira River Basin (Ecuador and Colombia) with the participation of autonomous and decentralized governments, local community actors and regional and national state institutions from both countries. The project includes promoting the conservation, protection and management of water sources, as wel as the sustainable management of natural resources and the consolidation of public and private conservation areas such as the Golondrinas Protected Forest (BPG), community areas that are in the Socio Bosque program (PSB), indigenous territories: Awá and the Pasto Commune La Esperanza (CLE), and community territories; all to achieve a better governance and management of the bi-national basin.
